Sedna HoReCa Secures Funding to Enhance B2B Solutions in the HoReCa Sector
Sedna HoReCa, a leading B2B platform dedicated to the hotel, restaurant, and catering (HoReCa) industry, has successfully secured Rs 50 crore ($5.8 million) in its latest funding round led by Anicut Capital. Based in Hyderabad, the company had previously raised $1.44 million.
The funds raised will be utilised to establish what Sedna describes as “India’s first integrated, technology-driven B2B solutions platform” tailored for the HoReCa ecosystem. The company also plans to expand its reach across 20 cities over the next year, as stated in a recent press release.
Sedna HoReCa’s Founders and Vision
Founded in July 2022 by Mahadevan Narayanamoni and Saurabh Pandey, Sedna aims to consolidate software, distribution, and food product solutions under one roof. Their offerings are structured around three primary verticals: B2B SaaS, commerce and distribution, and ready-to-cook or ready-to-serve food products.
Innovative B2B SaaS Solutions
As part of its SaaS vertical, Sedna HoReCa includes SupplyNote, a popular inventory management software, and BillNote, a point-of-sale (POS) software tailored for restaurants and cafés. The commerce and distribution vertical encompasses Vyap, a supply distribution platform, and SupplyLink, a third- and fourth-party logistics (3PL/4PL) solution specifically developed for HoReCa businesses. These tools are designed to address significant operational challenges such as inflated procurement costs, inconsistent supply chains, and inventory losses.
Expansion into Food Products
Sedna plans to venture into the food segment with a range of ready-to-cook and ready-to-serve offerings targeted at HoReCa businesses, food courts, direct-to-consumer (D2C) brands, and commercial kitchens. To facilitate this expansion, the company is establishing a new food production facility in Bengaluru and will scale the existing facilities as needed.
Aiming for Industry Solutions
With these developments, Sedna intends to alleviate the various challenges faced by the HoReCa industry, including rising purchase costs, unpredictable fill rates, prolonged lead times, and inventory loss caused by theft.
