US President-elect Donald Trump has appointed Sriram Krishnan, a former partner at Andreessen Horowitz, as the Senior Policy Advisor for Artificial Intelligence at the White House. “Sriram Krishnan will be the Senior Policy Advisor for Artificial Intelligence at the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy,” Trump announced in a post on the social media platform X.
He continued, “Collaborating closely with David Sacks, Sriram will concentrate on maintaining America’s leadership in A.I. and will work to shape and coordinate A.I. policy across the government, including collaboration with the President’s Council of Advisors on Science and Technology.”
Krishnan expressed his gratitude, stating, “I’m honoured to serve our country and ensure continued American leadership in A.I. while working closely with @DavidSacks. Thank you @realDonaldTrump for this opportunity.”
In a separate post, Krishnan mentioned, “I’m honoured to be able to serve our country and ensure continued American leadership in A.I. working closely with David Sacks.” He has previously managed product and engineering teams at leading tech companies, including X, Meta, and Snap. Krishnan began his professional journey at Microsoft, where he was a founding member of Windows Azure and has since invested personally in multiple technology enterprises.
In November, Krishnan announced his departure from Andreessen Horowitz after four years. In his announcement on X, he stated, “After four years at a16z, I’m leaving the firm at the end of the year to embark on a new adventure! Stay tuned for what’s next; it’s clear we are living through a unique moment in history. I’m eager to immerse myself in something I’ve wanted to focus on for some time.
