Amazon Now Expands Ultra-Fast Delivery Service in Mumbai
Amazon Now has broadened its ultra-quick delivery service to specific regions in Mumbai, building on prior launches in Bengaluru and Delhi. This service enables customers to procure thousands of essential items, such as groceries, personal care items, electronic accessories, and compact appliances, all with delivery times of approximately 10 minutes.
Supporting the Rollout of Amazon Now
To facilitate this launch, Amazon has established over 100 micro-fulfilment centres throughout the three cities, with plans to add hundreds more by the year’s end. These centres aim to position essential products nearer to customer locations, utilising technology-driven inventory systems to cater to local demand.
Part of a Broader Delivery Model
Amazon Now is part of a wider delivery framework that the company provides in India, covering everything from ultra-fast essentials to same-day and next-day delivery options. The company has stated that Prime members still enjoy unlimited free and prompt deliveries across various product categories.
Timing of the Expansion
This expansion precedes India’s festive season, a time when online shopping demand usually escalates. Amazon has expressed its intention to further develop the service, with plans to introduce it in more cities in the upcoming months.
Checking Availability of Amazon Now
Customers can verify the availability of Amazon Now in their region via the Amazon app, where qualifying postcodes will show a ‘10 mins’ icon.
