Agentic AI: Deloitte Launches New Centre of Excellence in Asia Pacific

Deloitte has revealed the creation of a new Asia Pacific (AP) Agentic AI Centre of Excellence (CoE), strategically located in India, Malaysia, and Singapore. This initiative is integral to the firm’s strategy aimed at facilitating large-scale, credible artificial intelligence (AI) transformations throughout the region.

Collaborative Efforts and Significant Investment

The CoE is set to unite more than 6,000 specialists from the Asia Pacific area, collectively supporting an array of AI implementations valued above US$1 billion. This new establishment is intricately connected to Deloitte’s Global Agentic Network, which encompasses delivery centres across North America, Asia Pacific, and EMEA. By utilising this extensive network, the CoE will harness global partnerships and proprietary platforms to assist businesses in deploying digital workforces efficiently.

Advancing Beyond Traditional Automation

Deloitte indicates that this centre will empower organisations to transcend conventional automation methods through the integration of agentic AI—an advanced type of AI characterised by autonomous systems capable of managing intricate workflows while continuously learning and adapting.

Insights from Leadership

Sathish Gopalaiah, President – Technology & Transformation at Deloitte South Asia, remarked that the launch of the Asia Pacific Agentic AI CoE signifies a meaningful advancement in the approach to human-AI collaboration in India. The shift is visible, moving from AI focused on incremental improvements to AI acting as a driving force for substantial transformation.

Innovation and Client Support

The CoE is crafted to boost innovation by granting clients access to reusable tools, structured methodologies, and a dedicated space for rapid prototyping and validation of proofs of concept. Deloitte emphasised its collaboration with NVIDIA and the application of its exclusive Zora AI technology stack, enabling digital agents to autonomously manage critical tasks in various business sectors, including finance, procurement, and marketing.

Role in India’s AI Ecosystem

Saurabh Kumar, Partner at Deloitte India, highlighted the CoE’s significance within India’s AI landscape. He mentioned that India’s robust digital public infrastructure and profound engineering talent provide a unique platform to spearhead agentic AI solutions. The CoE is aimed at co-creating sector-specific autonomous agents that comply with Deloitte’s Trustworthy AI guidelines.

Investment in Advanced AI Solutions

This centre underscores Deloitte’s ongoing commitment to merging industry-specific expertise with cutting-edge engineering, aspiring to assist clients in evolving from experimental applications to scalable AI implementations.

Understanding Agentic AI

Agentic AI, as outlined by Deloitte, offers more sophisticated applications of artificial intelligence by enabling autonomous agents to independently manage intricate tasks, adapt to dynamic conditions, and facilitate strategic decision-making in real-time.
