The International Institute of Hotel Management (IIHM) has introduced NamAIste – IIHM HospitalityGPT, recognised as the world’s first generative AI-based knowledge engine specifically designed for the hospitality sector. This innovative tool was developed in partnership with Entiovi Technologies, based in Kolkata, and is being acclaimed as a significant advancement in hospitality education and decision-making.
NamAIste stands out from standard AI models by operating on a hospitality-specific large language model (LLM) that has been trained using curated data from more than 60 countries. This allows for real-time insights into best practices, operational trends, and service innovations. The platform does not function as a public chatbot; instead, it serves as a specialised knowledge engine intended for students, educators, and industry professionals.
“With NamAIste, IIHM takes a pioneering role in the integration of AI for hospitality training and management,” stated Dr Suborno Bose, Chairman of IIHM. “A new era has arrived in the hospitality domain. The harmonious blend of technology and the human touch will enhance the sector and, most significantly, will benefit countless hospitality students worldwide, who will build lasting friendships with AI alongside hospitality stakeholders, particularly travellers and guests.”
Dr Bose further emphasised the global significance of this launch for India, remarking, “NamAIste is crafted in India, created by Indians, and dedicated to the world. This represents India’s contribution to the hospitality industry. Just as the US boasts Google and China has DeepSeek, India now possesses NamAIste.”
Sanjoy Chatterjee, Director of Entiovi Technologies, highlighted the distinctive method of knowledge sourcing. “The platform is entirely founded on open-source technology. What sets it apart is the creation of a knowledge base from 60 countries. Envision a student in Bengal posing a question about Japanese culinary traditions and receiving an answer sourced from Japanese materials, translated into Bengali.”
Unlike traditional open-web chatbots, NamAIste utilises institutionally validated hospitality data, encompassing hotel SOPs, culinary insights from chefs, and documentation from hospitality organisations. It operates as a closed system, currently being selectively deployed within the educational sphere and among industry stakeholders.
