Infinix GT 30 Pro: Feature-Packed Gaming Smartphone
Infinix has consistently established itself as a provider of smartphones rich in features at affordable prices, and the GT 30 Pro exemplifies this ethos. Priced at ₹24,999 for the 8GB + 256GB option and ₹26,999 for the 12GB + 256GB variant, the GT 30 Pro is tailored for mobile gaming enthusiasts seeking flagship-like characteristics without exceeding their budget. With support for 120fps gaming, shoulder triggers, and wireless charging capabilities, this phone aims to outperform expectations within its price category.
Bold Gamer Aesthetics
The GT 30 Pro showcases a “Cyber Mecha” design as envisioned by Infinix, boasting RGB LED lighting and customisable effects at the back. This gamer-oriented aesthetic strikes an elegant balance, featuring a matte polycarbonate finish that feels pleasant to hold. With a thickness of just under 8mm and weighing 188g, the device maintains an excellent equilibrium between style and practicality.
Vibrant AMOLED Display
At the forefront, the GT 30 Pro is equipped with a 6.78-inch 1.5K AMOLED display, offering a refresh rate of 144Hz and a peak brightness of up to 4500 nits. This combination provides a vivid and ultra-smooth viewing experience, particularly beneficial for gaming and multimedia consumption. While colours tend to lean towards oversaturation, resulting in a vibrant display, it may not be ideal for photo editing due to slight variations in colour accuracy.
Built for Gaming
Performance is where the GT 30 Pro truly shines. Powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 8350 Ultimate chipset built on a 4nm process and complemented by LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.0 storage, the device handles demanding games with ease. During rigorous testing, it frequently reached the advertised 120fps in titles such as BGMI.
What stands out are the ultrasonic shoulder triggers, offering console-like controls for fast-paced gameplay. Additionally, a six-layer 3D vapour chamber cooling system effectively managed heat during prolonged gaming sessions. Although the phone became a bit warm, it remained comfortable to operate.
Battery and Charging
The Infinix GT 30 Pro features a robust 5000mAh battery that sustains usage throughout the day, with an impressive 7 hours of screen-on time during tests. It supports 45W wired charging, which is fairly standard. Notably, the inclusion of 30W wireless charging is remarkable for this price segment. The phone also features bypass charging, a common feature in gaming smartphones, which alleviates overheating during charging while gaming.
Decent Cameras, Not the Focus
Equipped with a 108MP primary sensor, an 8MP ultra-wide camera, and a 13MP front-facing camera, the GT 30 Pro delivers satisfactory daylight shots with decent detail. However, performance in low-light environments and ultra-wide shots remains average. This indicates that the device prioritises gaming over photography, which aligns with its overall design philosophy.
Impressive Software Experience
The Infinix GT 30 Pro operates on XOS 15, based on Android 15. The user interface is clean and well-executed, with smooth and quick animations. Unlike many custom skins that tend to litter the experience with bloatware, the GT 30 Pro provides a streamlined environment. Infinix also guarantees two years of OS updates and three years of security patches, which is standard for devices in this price range.
