OnePlus is gearing up to unveil its next line of mid-range smartphones, namely the OnePlus Nord 5 and OnePlus Nord CE 5, possibly on July 8, as shared by tipster Yogesh Brar. While the company has yet to officially announce these devices or confirm the launch date, multiple leaks have provided insights into the anticipated specifications and positioning of these upcoming models.

OnePlus Nord 5: Enhanced Performance and Battery Life

The OnePlus Nord 5 is expected to deliver significant upgrades over its predecessor, the Nord 4. It is likely to feature the MediaTek Dimensity 9400e chipset, the same processor utilised in the recently released Realme GT 7. This 4nm SoC is designed to provide performance comparable to flagship devices. If the pricing is under ₹35,000, it could create strong competition against other brands in the mid-range gaming phone category.

In addition to performance, a noteworthy enhancement appears to be the battery capacity. The Nord 5 is rumoured to include a formidable 7,000mAh battery, a substantial upgrade from the 5,500mAh capacity of the Nord 4, combined with 100W fast charging support. This feature could particularly attract power users and mobile gaming enthusiasts.

The display is anticipated to showcase a flat OLED panel with a resolution of 1.5K and a refresh rate of 120Hz. It may also support an in-display fingerprint sensor. While the exact dimensions of the screen have not been confirmed, it is speculated to be similar to the 6.74-inch panel employed in the Nord 4. Early design leaks indicate a glass back with a plastic frame, differing from the metal body of the Nord 4, which raises concerns about durability versus appearance.

On the camera front, the Nord 5 is expected to retain a dual-camera setup on the rear, featuring a 50MP primary sensor with Optical Image Stabilisation (OIS) and an 8MP ultra-wide lens, alongside a 16MP front camera.

OnePlus Nord CE 5: Balanced Specs with an Impressive Battery

The OnePlus Nord CE 5 is anticipated to play a significant role as a mid-range contender. It is expected to be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 8350 processor, complemented by 8GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage. The device may sport a 6.7-inch flat OLED display with 1080p resolution and a refresh rate of 120Hz.

Camera specifications for the Nord CE 5 include a 50MP primary lens, an 8MP ultra-wide camera, and a 16MP front shooter. Similar to the Nord 5, it is thought to house a large battery, possibly 7,100mAh, with support for 80W fast charging.

Pricing and Availability Expectations

Although pricing details remain unofficial, initial indications suggest that the OnePlus Nord 5 could fall within the price range of ₹30,000 to ₹35,000 in India, with potential reductions through launch promotions. For reference, the Nord 4 was launched at ₹29,999, although OnePlus has adjusted its pricing strategies throughout various generations.

As for the OnePlus Nord CE 5, it is projected to be priced around ₹25,000 or slightly more, in line with the Nord CE 4’s launch price of ₹24,999.
