Galaxy S26 Series Launch in India
Galaxy S26 has made its debut in India during the Galaxy Unpacked 2026 event, revealing three innovative models: Galaxy S26, Galaxy S26 Plus, and Galaxy S26 Ultra. Each model boasts improved performance, a refined design, and a focused approach towards an “agentic” AI future.
AI-Centric Experience in the Galaxy S26 Lineup
This year’s S26 range marks Samsung’s third year of introducing AI in smartphones, placing Galaxy AI at the core of user interactions. The new devices feature on-device agents and contextual tools designed to anticipate user needs more effectively.
Effortless AI Integration
TM Roh, CEO, President, and Head of the Device eXperience (DX) Division at Samsung Electronics, mentioned that the Galaxy S26 series aims to make AI seamless, operating quietly in the background, allowing users to prioritise their essential tasks.
Galaxy S26 Ultra: Enhanced Features
Leading the range, the Galaxy S26 Ultra showcases a sleek 7.9mm frame while preserving a design aesthetic akin to its predecessor, with a newly redesigned camera module.
The device includes a 6.9-inch AMOLED display and integrates advanced privacy screen technology to reduce shoulder-surfing and enhance viewing safety in public settings.
Internally, the Ultra is equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 Mobile Platform for Galaxy, offering better performance for AI functionalities, gaming, and multitasking. It features a 5,000mAh battery paired with upgraded Super Fast Charging 3.0, which Samsung claims can achieve a 75% charge within 30 minutes.
Camera enhancements involve wider apertures on the 200MP primary sensor, providing superior low-light photography, alongside an improved Nightography Video feature designed for clearer footage in dark settings.
Galaxy S26 and S26 Plus: Performance Boost
The Galaxy S26 and S26 Plus maintain their familiar shapes, featuring 6.3-inch and 6.7-inch AMOLED 2X screens, respectively, both equipped with a 120Hz refresh rate.
While external modifications are minimal, a significant performance upgrade includes the new Exynos 2600 processor. The camera configuration remains mostly the same, consisting of a triple-lens setup with a 50MP primary sensor, a 10MP telephoto lens, and a 12MP ultra-wide camera.
Introducing Galaxy AI with Agent Capabilities
The most notable enhancements across the S26 series arise from new Galaxy AI functionalities built to provide contextual assistance and cross-application intelligence.
Samsung has introduced “Now Nudge,” which offers relevant actions based on visible content, such as saving images, generating calendar events, or starting tasks.
Bixy has undergone significant updates to enhance conversational skills and device-level agent capabilities, allowing it to perform complex commands spanning across apps and system settings.
Pre-existing features like Now Brief and Circle to Search have been improved with added agent integrations, including Bixby, Gemini, and Perplexity, enabling users to engage with various AI services directly from their device.
Availability in India
The Galaxy S26 series will launch in four vibrant colours: Cobalt Violet, White, Black, and Sky Blue. Additionally, two exclusive colours available only on Samsung.com are Pink Gold and Silver Shadow.
Pre-orders for the Galaxy S26 lineup commence on February 25, with official sales beginning on March 11, 2026.
