Sonos Arc Ultra and Sub 4 Elevate Home Audio Experience in India

Sonos has unveiled its latest home audio innovations in India: the Arc Ultra soundbar and Sub 4 subwoofer, designed to enrich the home theatre experience with advanced bass performance, spatial audio, and modern designs. Additionally, the company has launched the Era 100 Pro speaker, focused on professional installations for both commercial and residential environments.

Sonos Arc Ultra

The Arc Ultra stands as the flagship model of Sonos’ new series, integrating the brand’s proprietary Sound Motion technology. This development allows for a more compact transducer design while enhancing low-frequency performance. Sonos reports that this soundbar produces double the bass output compared to the earlier Arc model, offering a 9.1.4 spatial audio experience powered by 14 drivers, which include specific upward-firing and side-firing speakers to replicate surround sound.

Engineered for large-screen televisions and cinematic sound setups, the Arc Ultra supports Dolby Atmos and features a refreshed central driver layout that improves vocal clarity. An updated Speech Enhancement option, accessible through the Sonos app, lets users adjust dialogue levels to suit their preferences. The system is also calibratable using Sonos’ Trueplay tuning software, now compatible with both iOS and Android platforms.

Connectivity enhancements include support for HDMI eARC, Bluetooth line-in, voice assistants like Amazon Alexa and Sonos Voice Control, alongside traditional touch controls. A redesigned touch panel is now subtly embedded into the rear edge of the soundbar to maintain a sleek aesthetic.

In terms of environmental responsibility, Sonos claims the Arc Ultra has been redesigned for better serviceability, achieving a reduction in idle power consumption by up to 20% as a standalone unit, and featuring packaging that is 18% smaller and fully recyclable. The internal components now utilise fewer adhesives and more screws for easier repairs, alongside halogen-free PCBs and minimised silicon materials.

Sonos Sub 4

Complementing the soundbar is the new Sub 4, a fourth-generation subwoofer designed to deliver cleaner and deeper bass. It features dual inward-facing woofers arranged in a force-cancelling setup to reduce buzz and distortion. The Sub 4 incorporates enhanced processing power and memory, improved WiFi capabilities, and a sleek matte finish available in both black and white.

Rennie Addabbo, General Manager of Sonos APAC, stated that the transformation in India’s entertainment preferences towards in-home experiences and immersive audio is rapidly evolving. He added that the Arc Ultra offers a substantial advancement in home cinema performance, while the Sub 4 brings the necessary low-end depth to complete the audio experience.

The Arc Ultra and Sub 4 are set to launch in India on 8 May 2025, priced at ₹99,999 and ₹84,999 respectively.
