Everything You Need to Know About the Nothing Phone 3 Launch
The Nothing Phone 3 is set to make its global debut on 1 July, as confirmed by the company via a post on X (formerly known as Twitter). The message simply states, “Come to Play,” followed by the announcement of the release date and time, with the launch scheduled for 1 July at 10:30 PM IST.
What to Expect from the Nothing Phone 3
Nothing has provided some hints regarding the forthcoming Phone 3, which is poised to be a true flagship model. Recently, Carl Pei indicated that the Nothing Phone 3 would come with significant upgrades across its features, and it is projected to be priced around £800 in the UK, approximately ₹92,000. However, some experts suggest a lower price point for the Indian market, estimating it to be between ₹60,000 and ₹70,000, based on previous pricing trends.
Glyph Interface Changes
There are indications that the Phone 3 might launch without the signature Glyph Interface, a standout feature in all previous Nothing phones. A recent teaser on X dramatically announced, “We killed the Glyph Interface,” along with a video that showcased the original lights gradually fading away.
A New Visual Identity
Teaser visuals and ambiguous posts hint at a new visual identity, possibly featuring a dot-matrix or pixel-based display at the back. Retro-style animations, a pixelated “3,” and arcade-themed designs suggest a blend of nostalgic yet modern aesthetics, combining vintage tech vibes with contemporary design elements.
Premium Build and Materials
Based on the current teasers, the Phone 3 is anticipated to showcase a more polished and premium construction. Close-up shots of the device reveal a dual-texture back panel complemented by a unique integrated button and a textured finish, emphasising the brand’s dedication to exceptional hardware design. Co-founder Carl Pei has mentioned that the Phone 3 will utilise “premium materials” and deliver a “software experience that really levels things up.”
Hardware Specifications
On the hardware side, the Nothing Phone 3 is expected to sport a 6.77-inch AMOLED display featuring a 120Hz refresh rate, 1.5K resolution, and peak brightness of up to 3,000 nits. It will likely be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite chip, supported by up to 12GB of RAM and 512GB of internal storage.
Battery Life and Charging Capabilities
Rumours suggest that the smartphone will be equipped with a 5000mAh battery, featuring 50W wired and 20W wireless charging capabilities. Some reports indicate that Nothing may implement Silicon Carbon battery technology to enhance efficiency and longevity.
Camera Features
The Nothing Phone 3 is rumoured to come with a triple-camera setup on the rear, led by a 50MP primary sensor, although details about the ultra-wide and telephoto lenses remain undisclosed. A 32MP front-facing camera is also expected for selfies and video calls.
AI-Based Software Enhancements
Nothing is reportedly investing significantly in AI-driven software features. Anticipated additions include built-in voice-to-text functionality, a Smart Drawer for intelligent app organisation, Google’s Circle to Search, and possibly a custom AI assistant, all of which position the Phone 3 as the most advanced device in the company’s history.
