Insight into Expenses

Pooja Narula, a 24-year-old employee at Google, disclosed her total spending for February 2026, which amounted to ₹1.43 lakh. The video that she shared online provided a clear view of both her regular expenses and several unexpected costs that considerably increased her monthly expenditure.

Breaking Down the Monthly Expenses

Narula provided a breakdown of her consistent monthly costs, which encompass housing, domestic assistance, utilities, and weekend leisure activities.

Fixed Monthly Costs

  • ₹22,400 for rent
  • ₹2,800 for maid and cooking services
  • Approximately ₹2,000 for electricity and other household bills

Lifestyle Expenses

In addition to these necessities, Narula noted that her lifestyle choices also contributed to the overall monthly budget. Typically, weekend outings in Bengaluru cost about ₹2,000 each, accumulating to around ₹8,000 monthly.

One-Time Expenses Inflating the Total

Narula pointed out that February was exceptional due to various one-off expenses that raised the overall total.

She allocated ₹16,000 for flight tickets to return home and ₹2,000 for cab rides to the airport. Furthermore, moving to a new apartment involved ₹3,000 for moving services and a security deposit of ₹66,600.

Social engagements also added to her expenses, with ₹20,000 spent on dining out and gifts for friends.

Clarifying the Costs

Narula reminded viewers that a considerable part of her total expenditure resulted from one-time costs rather than ongoing monthly payments.

In her video, she mentioned that she hoped her spending would be significantly lower in the following month, acknowledging that everything is indeed pricey.

Public Response and Income Disparities

Her post quickly incited a lively discussion in the comments, where many users reflected on their own earnings and savings in comparison to Narula’s expenditures.

One commenter indicated that Narula’s monthly expenses equalled their yearly savings, while another noted the high cost of rent at her young age.

In a direct query, one user asked if she earned ₹2 lakhs monthly.

This viral video has reignited conversations regarding the living costs in India’s tech capital, as high rents, social activity expenses, and moving costs often create significant budgets for young professionals.
