The latest addition to this trend has brought both humour and confusion to the internet: a simple white shirt made to look as if it suffered an accidental burn from a hot iron. Created by Vetements, this piece, dubbed the White Ironing Burn Graphic Shirt, boasts an oversized fit with a replicated scorch mark on the chest pocket. This graphic emulates the outcome of fabric left too long under an iron, presenting the garment as damaged more than intentionally designed.

While luxury brands have historically explored aesthetic limits, many online commentators observed that this specific design ventured into a new realm. The discussion heightened when users learned of its price: $1,139 (approximately ₹1 lakh).
Founded in 2014, Vetements is a Swiss-French luxury fashion house and “design collective” established by Georgian designers Demna Gvasalia and Guram Gvasalia.

Prada also faced criticism last year for showcasing Kolhapuri-style footwear without attributing their Indian roots, selling the sandals for approximately ₹84,000 and igniting discussions about cultural recognition and price points.
