Israel’s Preemptive Military Strike: Operation Lion’s Roar
Israel has conducted a preemptive military operation against Iran, dubbed Operation Lion’s Roar, on February 28, targeting crucial military and strategic sites throughout the nation. This escalation has led to increased tensions in the region, widespread civilian panic, and an online political uproar, particularly as a prediction made by an astrologer about this date has recently gained considerable attention.
Viral Prediction
On February 16, astrologer Sumit Bajaj shared a prediction stating that military action involving the USA may occur on February 28, 2026. Following the strike on February 28, he remarked, “It is exactly February 28, and breaking: Israel launches preventative attack on Iran.” His posts gained significant traction on social media, as users pointed out the specific date mentioned nearly two weeks prior.
Targets of Israel’s Operation
Initial reports indicate that Israel’s strikes targeted key sites including missile launchers, nuclear facilities, and suspected military installations. Explosions were documented in various cities, including the capital and areas in central Iran. According to Reuters, there were long queues at petrol stations in Tehran as residents sought to evacuate amidst heightened fears of an escalating conflict. An unnamed Iranian official confirmed that several ministries located in southern Tehran were included in the targets.
Closure of Iranian Airspace
The Iranian civil aviation authority announced the closure of its airspace until further notice in light of these developments.
US Military Response
In reaction to these events, the US President announced that the US military has initiated “major combat operations” in Iran, accusing the nation of attempting to revive its nuclear programme. In a video posted on Truth Social, Trump directly addressed Iran’s Revolutionary Guards, stating: “You will be treated fairly with total immunity or you will face certain death.” He accused Iran of developing long-range missiles that pose a threat to the US and its allies, asserting that the US would “raze their missile industry to the ground” and “annihilate their navy.”
Trump reiterated that Iran “can never have a nuclear weapon,” alleging the country’s attempts to reconstruct its nuclear programme and its development of long-range missiles capable of endangering the United States and other nations.
