Turkish Airlines Enhances Baggage Recovery with Google Collaboration
Turkish Airlines has partnered with Google to introduce a new feature, Find Hub, that allows for quicker and more effective solutions for guests dealing with lost or delayed luggage.
Improving Travel Experiences for Passengers
In its commitment to improving the travel experience, Turkish Airlines now incorporates location links generated by Find Hub into its official baggage recovery process.
Efficient Baggage Location Sharing
Passengers who travel with a Find Hub-compatible tracking tag or network accessory attached to their luggage can create a secure, location link via the Find Hub app. This link can then be shared with a Turkish Airlines baggage representative, providing precise information to help locate and return the luggage more efficiently.
Innovative Technology Integration
Mehmet Yıldırım, Vice President of Ground Operations at Turkish Airlines, expressed excitement about integrating cutting-edge technologies like Google’s Find Hub. The airline is proud to be a pioneering global carrier offering enhanced baggage tracking and recovery functionalities for its passengers.
Passenger Control and Privacy Security
Throughout this process, passengers maintain full control over their data sharing. They can stop sharing at any time via the app. Links generated will automatically expire after seven days, and sharing is disabled once the item is confirmed back with its owner. All location information is encrypted to protect passenger privacy at every junction.
A Unique Experience for Android Users
Erik Kay, Vice President of Engineering at Google, highlighted that Find Hub provides a distinctive experience for Android users. The platform’s open ecosystem allows people the freedom of choice and utilizes a crowdsourced network of over a billion devices to help locate lost or misplaced items and devices, regardless of their location.
