Goldi Solar Expands with Significant Funding
Goldi Solar, a leading manufacturer of solar photovoltaic (PV) modules, has successfully secured Rs 137.5 crore from Nikhil Kamath, the co-founder of Zerodha. This funding is aimed at advancing its solar cell production capabilities, as highlighted in a press release by Goldi Star.

Founded in 2011 by Ishverbhai Dholakia, Goldi Solar has established itself in the renewable energy sector, producing solar PV modules that are widely distributed in India and internationally across more than 20 countries. The company boasts a substantial manufacturing capacity of 14.7 GW, with ongoing plans to enhance its cell production capabilities.
Additional Services and Initiatives
In addition to module manufacturing, the Surat-based company provides Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) services for solar projects. Goldi Solar actively engages in Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) efforts, which include supporting educational institutions and providing mid-day meals to students.
Growth and Future Plans
Goldi Solar has reported a remarkable increase in module manufacturing capacity, expanding from 3 GW to 14.7 GW over the past year. The company is also focused on backward integration, with ambitions to set up a large-scale cell manufacturing facility by 2026. Furthermore, it aims to establish a 1 GW Solar Park (IPP) by the fiscal year 2025-26.
Innovations and Market Focus
The company plans to roll out high-efficiency modules and advanced cell technologies that will cater to both domestic and export markets. In the fiscal year ending March 2024, Goldi Solar has reported revenue of Rs 1756.36 crore, with a profit of Rs 59.38 crore. An annual report for FY25 has yet to be filed.
