Arvind KC Appointed as Chief People Officer at OpenAI
Arvind KC has been appointed as the Chief People Officer at OpenAI, tasked with overseeing recruitment and helping staff adapt to the swift expansion of AI technologies. He will report directly to Jason Kwon, OpenAI’s chief strategy officer.

KC will play a pivotal role in shaping how OpenAI supports and manages its workforce as the organisation expands. His responsibilities span hiring, onboarding, and developing policies that foster effective teamwork. Additionally, he will assist OpenAI in navigating the shift towards AI in a responsible manner.

KCs Background and Previous Experience
Prior to this role, KC served as Chief People and Systems Officer at Roblox and held senior positions at Google, Palantir Technologies, and Meta. He holds a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from the University Institute of Chemical Technology in Maharashtra and completed his MBA at Santa Clara University.
Transition in Leadership
KC takes over from Julia Villagra, the previous Chief People Officer at OpenAI, who left the organisation in August 2025 to pursue personal interests.
