Samara Capital Acquires Interest in Integrated Logistics Platform
Samara Capital, a prominent private equity firm, has secured investments in Associated Road Carriers (ARC) and Calyx Container Terminals, aiming to establish a unified logistics platform. According to a report by Mint, Samara’s investment amounts to approximately Rs 1,200 crore, with the company and promoters holding nearly equal shares in the new venture.
Synergy Between ARC and Calyx
The newly formed platform merges ARC’s extensive business-to-business road transport network with Calyx’s container freight station operations at Chennai Port. Combined revenues for the two firms reached around Rs 2,140 crore in FY26.
Utilising New Investments
The newly acquired capital will facilitate the expansion of the branch and hub network, enhancing first-mile and last-mile logistics capabilities, as well as enabling technology upgrades. The platform is also likely to explore acquisition opportunities as it grows its footprint throughout India.
Vision for Nationwide Logistics
Samara intends to establish a comprehensive logistics enterprise that addresses domestic and EXIM cargo movements. The focus will be on improving operations through investments in technology, data analytics, engineering, and process enhancements.
The integrated platform aims to leverage ARC’s road infrastructure alongside Calyx’s port-connected facilities to provide logistics solutions at various stages of the supply chain.
