Alimento Agro Foods Secures Funding to Expand Instant Food Brands

Alimento Agro Foods Secures Funding for Instant Food Expansion

Packaged food startup Alimento Agro Foods Pvt Ltd, recognised for its brands MOM Meal of the Moment and Gimi Gimi, has successfully raised Rs 52 crore (approximately $5.8 million) in a Series A funding round, spearheaded by IvyCap Ventures. These funds are earmarked for enhancing manufacturing capabilities, bolstering distribution networks across India, and investing in novel product development for both brands.

Founded by Prateek Bhagchandka and Mugdha Bhagchandka, Alimento operates in two rapidly growing food sectors. MOM Meal of the Moment is dedicated to instant meals and snacks that emphasise flavour and convenience, appealing to urban consumers in search of quick meal solutions. The brand has gained momentum in the ready-to-eat and ready-to-cook markets.

Its second offering, Gimi Gimi, is tailored as a Korean-style noodle brand aimed at Indian consumers. The company is tapping into the increasing popularity of global cuisines, especially Korean food, to grow the brand on a national scale.

The founders convey that the funding arrives at a time when both brands are witnessing consistent demand, and the current emphasis is on scaling operations and extending reach beyond existing markets. Expansion of manufacturing and broader retail distribution will be pivotal in the upcoming phase.

Alimento Agro Foods intends to cultivate a diverse portfolio of mass-market food brands within the convenience and instant food realm, positioning itself against both established FMCG entities and emerging direct-to-consumer brands.
