Astrotalk Achieves Unicorn Status at $1 Billion Valuation
Astrotalk, an online astrology and spiritual technology platform, has attained unicorn status with a valuation of $1 billion, driven by an ESOP buyback that impacts over 100 employees, as stated by the company. The Noida-based startup indicated that the buyback offers eligible employees a chance to access liquidity while maintaining their stake in the company’s future growth.
Established in 2017 by Puneet Gupta and Anmol Jain, Astrotalk has transitioned from merely providing astrology consultations to encompassing spiritual and commerce sectors. The startup is currently on track to generate more than Rs 2,500 crore in revenue and reported Rs 1,176 crore in revenue along with Rs 285 crore in profit before tax in FY25.
Funding and Growth of Astrotalk
The ESOP buyback is being financed through profits accrued by the business. This startup has garnered support from investors, including Left Lane Capital and Elev8 Venture Partners.
Furthermore, Astrotalk has ventured into spiritual commerce via the Astrotalk Store. The e-commerce segment has achieved a daily gross merchandise value run rate of approximately Rs 1 crore and processed 1.6 million orders in 2025.
Gemstone Platform Launch
Astrotalk has also introduced a dedicated platform for gemstones, which provides precious and semi-precious stones accompanied by lab certification, astrology consultations, and a replacement policy. This initiative seeks to address sourcing and certification issues prevalent in the fragmented gemstone market.
Earlier, Astrotalk completed a $14 million funding round in June 2024. To date, the company has raised a total of $34 million from Left Lane and Elev8 Capital.
Focus on Customer Trust and Expansion
Anmol Jain, co-founder of Astrotalk, mentioned that the company has concentrated on sourcing, merchandising, and introducing new products over the past year. The dedicated gemstone platform is designed to enhance customer confidence in this category.
Astrotalk plans to keep investing in technology and talent while broadening its global presence as it aims to strengthen its footprint across both the spiritual tech and commerce domains. With this achievement, Astrotalk becomes the eighth startup to join India’s unicorn club in 2026, alongside Emergent, Sarvam AI, Square Yards, Skyroot, KreditBee, Neysa, and Juspay.
