ShopOS Raises $20 Million to Enhance E-commerce Solutions
Bengaluru’s e-commerce tech startup ShopOS has successfully secured $20 million in funding, with the round led by 3STATE Ventures, the investment firm established by Flipkart co-founder Binny Bansal.
This new funding will be directed towards scaling product development, increasing the engineering team, and onboarding additional e-commerce brands from global markets, as stated by ShopOS in a press release.
AI-Powered Platform for E-commerce
ShopOS is in the process of creating an AI-enhanced platform that enables brands to effortlessly build and manage their online stores. This platform employs an “AI workforce” to automatically generate content such as product descriptions, images, and videos, tailor store layouts in real time for each visitor, and execute targeted marketing campaigns.
Founders with a Proven Track Record
The startup was co-founded by Sai Krishna V K and Ajay P V, who previously co-created Scapic, a tech platform acquired by Flipkart in 2020. Following that acquisition, they played pivotal roles in launching Flipkart Labs, focusing on deep technology and AI applications in commerce. They are now joined by Karan Sonawala, who had led AI and immersive commerce initiatives at Flipkart.

The co-founders highlighted that “the friction in content creation and personalization are significant drags on growth.” Their experiences in their previous startup journey underscored the importance of tackling challenging problems. ShopOS is focusing on a worldwide customer base, with initial adopters already established in regions including India, Europe, and the UAE.
Bansal’s Continued Investments in Tech
In March 2024, Binny Bansal invested almost $2 million into his new global retail software initiative, OppDoor, through Three State Ventures. This SaaS company assists emerging online retail brands in expanding internationally. Earlier in the year, he also introduced Opptra, a tech-centric startup that supports brands in scaling within Asia through franchising across sectors like fashion, home, and electronics.
