Jewellery Retailer Bluestone Reports Strong Growth in FY27

Bluestone, a prominent jewellery retailer, has exhibited impressive growth in its revenue during the first quarter of FY27, achieving a substantial 49.5% year-on-year rise. Despite maintaining profitability across the quarter, the company encountered pressure on its bottom line, with net profit experiencing a significant drop of over 80% compared to the previous quarter.

According to its unaudited consolidated financial statements sourced from the NSE, Bluestone’s revenue from operations surged to Rs 737 crore in Q1 FY27, rising from Rs 493 crore in Q1 FY26. On a quarter-on-quarter basis, revenue also saw an increase of 8.2%, moving from Rs 681 crore in Q4 FY26 to Rs 737 crore in Q1 FY27.

Revenue Drivers and Income Breakdown

The sale of jewellery remained the core revenue stream for the company. Additionally, Bluestone secured Rs 15 crore from non-operational activities, bringing its total income to Rs 752 crore in Q1 FY27.

Expenditure Analysis

In terms of expenses, the materials cost emerged as the largest expense, amounting to Rs 436 crore, marking a 50.3% increase year-on-year. Employee benefit expenses totalled Rs 76 crore. Furthermore, finance costs and depreciation expenses were recorded at Rs 55 crore and Rs 60 crore, respectively. Overall, Bluestone’s total expenditure escalated by 38.5%, reaching Rs 745 crore in Q1 FY27, compared to Rs 538 crore in Q1 FY26.

Net Profit Performance

For the quarter, Bluestone reported a profit of Rs 6 crore in Q1 FY27, showing an improvement from a loss of Rs 34.7 crore in Q1 FY26. However, this profit reflects a decline of 80.8% compared to the previous quarter, where it achieved a profit of Rs 31.2 crore.

Investments and Share Allotment

During the quarter ending June 2026, the company invested Rs 3 crore in its associate, Redefine Fashion Private Limited. It also distributed 1,70,416 equity shares, valued at approximately Rs 10.4 crore, to employees as part of its stock option exercise under the ESOP scheme.

At the end of today’s trading session, Bluestone’s shares closed at Rs 610.40, resulting in a total market capitalisation of Rs 9,138 crore.
