Burma Burma Secures Funding to Expand

Burmese speciality restaurant chain Burma Burma has successfully raised over Rs 38 crore ($4 million) in a private funding round, which has positioned the company at an estimated valuation of around Rs 500 crore ($53 million). This funding round included contributions from existing backer Negen Capital and welcomed new investors such as Endurance Capital and Coheron Wealth.

The fresh capital is intended for expanding into new cities while enhancing its footprint in existing markets. The company is focused on scaling up in a strategic manner, ensuring that both food quality and customer experience remain consistently high.

About Burma Burma

Founded in 2012, Burma Burma operates a total of 21 outlets spanning Delhi NCR, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Ahmedabad, and Chandigarh. The restaurant has successfully established itself in the premium casual dining segment through its specialised offering of Burmese cuisine and a dedicated vegetarian menu.

Financial Performance

Burma Burma has reported an impressive annual recurring revenue exceeding Rs 200 crore, with revenue growing at an approximate rate of 50% CAGR over the past three years. In FY25, the restaurant chain achieved outlet-level profitability of over 21% along with an EBITDA margin around 8%. Its operating revenue increased to Rs 106 crore in FY25, a notable rise from Rs 72 crore the previous fiscal year.

Prior to this round, Burma Burma had successfully raised a total of $7 million in funding, with Negen Capital and Bbigplas Poly Pvt Ltd serving as lead investors. The co-founders, Chirag Chhajer and Ankit Gupta, collectively own 88% of the company.
