byteXL: $9 Million Raised to Enhance Edtech Innovations
byteXL has secured $9 million in its recent funding round, led by Elevar Equity, with support from existing backers including Kalaari Capital and the Michael & Susan Dell Foundation. This funding builds on the previous $5.9 million raised during the Series A in July 2024, also from Kalaari Capital and the Dell Foundation. The new funds will be channelled towards expanding its network of institutions, enhancing its AI and technology platforms, and creating new skills development programmes. byteXL aims to invest heavily in AI-powered learning experiences, assessment tools, student analytics, and bespoke learning aids.
Focus on Engineering Colleges in Tier 2 and Tier 3 Cities
Founded by brothers Karun and Sricharan Tadepalli, byteXL collaborates with engineering colleges, especially those in tier 2 and tier 3 cities, to impart both technology and AI skills in addition to traditional academic education. The organisation adopts a model that integrates an industry-aligned curriculum, hands-on learning experiences, technological platforms, and qualified educators into college coursework.
Successful Graduate Placement and Future Plans
According to the company, 7,600 graduates from byteXL secured positions in IT and engineering roles last year. Currently, byteXL impacts approximately 200,000 students across 40 institutions and is set to broaden its reach to 120 institutions and 500,000 students in 15 states over the next two years.
