Clairva Secures Funding for AI Data Infrastructure
Clairva has successfully raised $500K in a pre-seed funding round, with the initiative led by Venture Catalysts through its angel network. This new funding will enable Clairva to bolster its licensed data supply network, broaden its partnerships with content owners and institutions, improve data enrichment and validation capabilities, and enhance commercial interactions with global AI customers, as stated in a press release.
Foundation and Objectives of Clairva
Established in 2025 by Sunil Nair, Sabari Raju, Dushyant Verma, and Amit Parashar, Clairva creates licensed, provenance-backed datasets for AI foundation models, embodied AI, robotics, and autonomous systems. As the demand for high-quality datasets grows within AI models, the task of acquiring data with clear usage rights, provenance, and cultural context poses a significant challenge.
Collaborative Approach to Data Sourcing
Clairva collaborates with content owners, production companies, studios, archives, institutions, and contributor networks to acquire, license, and structure real-world data for AI training. The company’s primary focus is on India, Southeast Asia, and other Global South regions, where various languages, environments, behaviours, gestures, workflows, and objects continue to be underrepresented in AI training datasets.
Innovative Technology Development
Furthermore, Clairva is in the process of developing proprietary technology aimed at improving the data pipeline. This includes ingesting licensed datasets, tracking rights and provenance, automating enrichment, generating metadata, tagging actions and objects, segmenting data temporally, validating quality, and packaging datasets.
