Meanwhile, on the BSE, the stock began trading at Rs 1,193.80, offering investors a listing gain of about 37%.

Strong Demand for the IPO

This outstanding debut follows a robust demand for the company’s IPO, which was valued at Rs 3,066.89 crore. The issue, open from August 10 to August 12, garnered a remarkable subscription rate of 74.21 times. In particular, the Qualified Institutional Buyers (QIB) portion was heavily subscribed at 212.92 times, with Non-Institutional Investors (NII) and retail portions subscribed 51.93 times and 8.12 times, respectively.

Breakdown of the IPO Structure

The IPO consisted of a fresh issue amounting to Rs 1,400 crore along with an Offer for Sale (OFS) totaling approximately Rs 1,666.89 crore. Bain Capital, a private equity investor, was among the selling stakeholders, holding approximately 55% of the company prior to the IPO.

Product Offerings and Collaborations

Dhoot Transmission is engaged in the manufacturing of wiring harnesses and various electrical and electronic components utilized in vehicles. Their product range includes battery packs, sensors, electronic controllers, switches, connectors, and power supply systems. The company supplies its products to several major automotive manufacturers, including Bajaj Auto, TVS Motor, Honda Motorcycle, and Royal Enfield.

Financial Growth and Performance

The company has shown significant growth, with a 31% increase in revenue year-on-year, reaching Rs 4,525 crore in FY26. The profit after tax also rose to around Rs 397 crore. Nonetheless, the EBITDA margin experienced a decline, falling to 15.71% in FY26 from 18.31% in FY24.

Focusing on Electric Vehicles

Dhoot Transmission’s electric vehicle (EV) segment serves as another critical growth area, as electric vehicles necessitate a greater number of wiring and electrical components compared to traditional vehicles. The company’s strong market debut showcases investor confidence in its growth potential and its strategic positioning within India’s flourishing electric vehicle sector.
