Everhope Oncology: Pioneering Cancer Care in India

Everhope Oncology, a collaboration between Narayana Health, W Health Ventures, and 2070 Health, has successfully acquired $10 million in initial funding to launch medical and surgical cancer care facilities in Delhi and Mumbai. The initiative aims to expand to ten cities in the coming three years.

The newly set up facilities focus on patient comfort and streamlined access to care by reducing wait times while fostering a supportive environment for treatment, as highlighted in the company’s press release. Furthermore, Everhope Oncology plans to broaden its range of services to incorporate mental health support, nutritional advice, and pain management therapies.

Comprehensive Cancer Treatment Services

Everhope Oncology is committed to delivering a full spectrum of cancer care. This encompasses chemotherapy, radiation, surgical interventions, and palliative care to support patients throughout their cancer journey.

Viren Shetty, Vice Chairman of Narayana Health, remarked that there exists a prevalent misconception surrounding cancer treatment, where individuals picture patients as frail and ill, navigating through crowded hospital environments. This stigma often deters individuals from seeking cancer screenings and leads them to consider unverified treatments. The aim is to transform these widespread beliefs regarding cancer care.

Cancer Incidence in India

According to the National Cancer Registry Program, it is estimated that one in nine individuals in India will develop cancer in their lifetime. The cancers that are most frequently diagnosed include breast, lung, cervical, colorectal, and oral cancers.

In recent months, numerous startups dedicated to cancer treatment have garnered funding. For instance, MOC Cancer Care & Research Centre recently raised $18 million, facilitated by Elevation Capital. Additional companies in this sector include ErlySign, OnCare, and OneCell Diagnostics.
