Flam Raises $40 Million in Series B Funding for AI Interactive Content

Bengaluru-based company Flam, specialising in AI interactive content, has successfully raised $40 million during its Series B funding round, which was led by QED Investors. This funding round also attracted participation from notable figures, including Claypond Capital, Martin Chavez, Olivier Pomel, Venky Harinarayan, and Shah Rukh Khan, alongside existing investors RTP Global and Dovetail.

Utilisation of New Capital

Flam intends to leverage the new capital to enhance its research and development across its AI models, expand its product offerings, and grow enterprise sales on a global scale.

Company Background

Founded in 2021 by Shourya Agarwal, Flam creates AI-driven interactive content tailored for various enterprise applications, including marketing, product visualisation, learning and development, entertainment, fan engagement, customer support, and sales. The company reported onboarding over 100 enterprise clients in the last six quarters, with notable names such as Google, Reliance, and Hyundai.

Innovative Products Offered by Flam

Flam currently holds more than 15 patents and provides three primary formats. Its Flicks product allows for interactive videos, enabling transitions between people, products, or scenes during playback. Flam highlighted that Flicks employs a patented compression algorithm and is delivered programmatically with a 50-millisecond time-to-first-buffer.

Additional Product Features

The Forge editing model from Flam utilises image references to alter specific elements, while Airboards supplies high-fidelity 3D content via a camera interface that incorporates touch, voice, and haptic interactions. Flam noted that its 3D streaming technology can load Airboards within 300 milliseconds without requiring users to download an app. Furthermore, its Fable model generates assets as native alpha-channel videos from images.

Future Developments

Flam is also in the process of developing Visual Agents, which are human-like characters crafted to engage in conversations and perform agentic actions. This technology integrates Fantom for facial expressions, identity retention, and motion transfer; Finesse for multilingual voice functionalities; and Falcon, a large language model with 26 billion parameters. Flam states that its pipeline can generate answers in under two seconds, with Falcon achieving a 30-millisecond time-to-first-token.

Global Presence

Headquartered in San Francisco, Flam operates teams in both India and Japan. The company has established five AI models, secured over 15 patents, and serves more than 100 enterprise clients around the globe.
