HealthKart IPO: Financial Strength and Growth Potential
As HealthKart lays the groundwork for its initial public offering (IPO), the health supplement brand is showcasing the financial elements that attract investors in the public market: significant revenue growth, scalability, and ongoing profitability. The company achieved over Rs 2,000 crore in revenue during FY26, with a 30% increase in profit before tax for the same period.
Remarkable Revenue Growth
According to consolidated annual statements from the Registrar of Companies (RoC), HealthKart’s revenue from operations surged by 56.2% in FY26, reaching Rs 2,052 crore, up from Rs 1,313 crore in FY25. The company boasts a diverse range of nutrition and wellness brands including MuscleBlaze, The Protein Zone, TrueBasics, HK Vitals, bGreen, Nouriza, and Gritzo.
Sales Driving Revenue
Product sales remain the primary source of revenue, constituting nearly 99% of operating income. Sales increased by 59.2%, climbing to Rs 2,033 crore in FY26 from Rs 1,279 crore the previous year. In addition to product sales, the company also generates income through various services and activities. Including other income of Rs 54 crore, total revenue grew to Rs 2,106 crore in FY26, a rise from Rs 1,368 crore in FY25.
Rising Expenses
Despite these impressive growth numbers, expenses also saw an upward trend. Procurement costs, HealthKart’s largest expenditure, climbed by 71.9% to Rs 1,071 crore in FY26 compared to Rs 623 crore in FY25. Additionally, the company increased its advertising and marketing budget by 53.2%, spending Rs 403 crore during the year. Other expenses, including employee benefits, commissions, and freight, also contributed to a total expense increase of 55.7%, reaching Rs 1,982 crore in FY26 from Rs 1,273 crore in FY25.
Improved Profitability
Nevertheless, HealthKart’s impressive revenue growth has bolstered its profitability. The profit before tax, excluding exceptional items, rose by 30% to Rs 124 crore in FY26 from Rs 95 crore in FY25. The combination of a larger revenue base and positive earnings could play a vital role in HealthKart’s IPO narrative, particularly as investors analyse the ability of consumer brands to maintain growth while managing expenses related to marketing and procurement.
Funding and Investment Partners
HealthKart has successfully raised around $382 million in funding to date, with notable investors such as Peak XV Partners, Temasek, and Sofina. In December 2022, the company secured an additional $135 million from Temasek and other backers.
