Lenskart Financial Results Q1 FY27

Lenskart has showcased impressive financial results for Q1 FY27, indicating significant growth within the eyewear industry. The company reported a remarkable 43% increase in consolidated operating revenue over the same quarter last year, driven by robust performance in international markets. Profits surged 3.7 times to reach Rs 228 crore.

Revenue Growth Overview

The operating revenue for Lenskart rose to Rs 2,714 crore in Q1 FY27, up from Rs 1,894 crore in the corresponding quarter the previous year. According to financial statements sourced from NSE, revenue generated from India remained a crucial contributor to the overall growth. The international business segment enjoyed a year-on-year increase of 64%, amounting to Rs 1,203 crore, while the revenue from the Indian market rose by 31% to Rs 1,531 crore during this period.

Comparison with Previous Quarters

When assessed on a quarterly basis, the firm’s revenue from operations grew by 8% from Rs 2,517 crore in Q1 FY26.

Cost Analysis

On the expenditure side, the cost of materials emerged as the largest category, comprising over 32% of total expenses. This cost rose by 34% year-on-year to Rs 807 crore in Q1 FY27. Furthermore, employee benefit expenses increased by 28% to Rs 599 crore from Rs 466 crore during Q1 FY26. Other significant expense categories, such as finance costs and depreciation, contributed to an overall increase in total expenses by 35%, bringing it to Rs 2,484 crore for the quarter.

Profit Surge

The notable 43% growth in revenue, surpassing the 35% rise in total expenses, led to Lenskart’s profit soaring to Rs 228 crore in Q1 FY27 compared to Rs 61 crore in the year-ago quarter.

Stake Changes in the Company

In recent developments, Temasek-backed MacRitchie Investments divested a 2.05% stake in the omnichannel eyewear retailer for Rs 1,940 crore, equivalent to $204 million. Additionally, during the quarter, Abu Dhabi Investment Authority (ADIA), through its investment vehicle Platinum Jasmine A 2018 Trust, sold its 2.3% stake in Lenskart for Rs 1,960 crore. Just a week prior, SoftBank sold a 3.25% stake for Rs 2,873 crore.

Market Capitalisation

At the conclusion of today’s trading session, Lenskart shares finished at Rs 585, equating to a total market capitalisation of Rs 1,01,715 crore or approximately $10.7 billion.
