Lightstorm Secures Rs 700 Crore for Enhanced Cloud and Data Centre Networking Solutions
Lightstorm, a provider of cloud and data centre networking solutions, has successfully raised Rs 700 crore (approximately $80.5 million) in a funding round spearheaded by NIIF Infrastructure Finance Limited (NIIF IFL).
In June 2019, I Squared Capital, based in New York, made an investment of around $300 million into Lightstorm Telecom Ventures, which operates its telecom infrastructure platform in India.
The newly acquired funds will be allocated towards enhancing the network infrastructure for enterprises, thus supporting their digital transformation goals.
Lightstorm’s Commitment to Scalable and Secure Connectivity
Founded by Amajit Gupta and Ranjan Banerjee, Lightstorm is dedicated to providing network solutions that ensure secure and scalable connectivity. This approach facilitates seamless integration within cloud and data centre environments.
Expansive Fibre Network Established Since 2020
Since its establishment in 2020, the company has reportedly constructed over 30,000 km of fibre network throughout India, boasting a capacity of around 700 Tbps and currently serving more than 100 customers.
Future Growth Plans and Operational Enhancements
Lightstorm plans to utilise the raised funds to further extend its network reach and enhance its operational capabilities, aiming to cater to the demands of large enterprises across the nation.
