MathCo Reports Significant Revenue Growth and Profit Decline in FY26

MathCo, a leader in data and analytics solutions, experienced a remarkable 23.7% increase in revenue in FY26. However, the company’s profit dropped sharply by 94% due to a substantial rise in expenses.

Revenue Growth in FY26

MathCo’s operating revenue reached Rs 621 crore in FY26, up from Rs 502 crore in FY25, as documented in its annual financial statements filed with the Registrar of Companies (RoC). The company had previously reported stagnant revenue growth in FY25.

Focus on AI and Analytics Solutions

MathCo, previously known as TheMathCompany, is an innovator in artificial intelligence and machine learning solutions, dedicated to assisting organisations in harnessing data and analytics for actionable business insights. The revenue generated from these services constituted the company’s primary source of income during FY26.

Additional Revenue Details

Besides its operational revenue, MathCo also generated Rs 29 crore from other income sources in FY26, mainly through interest income. This brought MathCo’s total revenue to Rs 650 crore, an increase from the previous Rs 523 crore in FY25.

Expenses Analysis in FY26

For MathCo, employee benefits expenses remained the predominant cost category in FY26. The company incurred Rs 497 crore on employee-related costs, reflecting a 33% increase from Rs 374 crore in FY25. These expenses accounted for nearly 80% of the total costs incurred during the year.

Overall Financial Performance

Furthermore, expenditures related to technology, travel, legal fees, depreciation, and other overheads also rose throughout the year. This led to an overall increase in MathCo’s total expenses by 41.4% to Rs 628 crore in FY26, compared to Rs 444 crore in FY25. The disproportionate rise in expenses compared to revenue growth adversely impacted the company’s profitability.

Profit and Capital Performance

MathCo’s profit after tax plummeted by 94% to Rs 3.83 crore in FY26, down from Rs 63.7 crore in FY25. The return on capital employed (ROCE) was -2.78%, while the EBITDA margin stood at 1.81% during this period.

Unit Economics Insights

On a unit economics level, MathCo expended Rs 1.01 to generate each rupee of operating revenue in FY26, reflecting the pressures caused by the elevated cost structure. By the end of FY26, MathCo’s total current assets were valued at Rs 493 crore, which included cash and bank reserves of approximately Rs 14.9 crore.

Funding and Investment

To date, MathCo has secured around $53 million in funding. Prominent investors such as Brighton Park Capital and Patni Wealth Advisors hold approximate stakes of 16% and 13%, respectively, in the company.
