MobiKwik Q2 FY25 Financial Results

Fintech platform MobiKwik announced its quarterly performance for the second quarter of the current fiscal year (Q2 FY25) on the stock exchange today, showcasing an impressive 43% growth quarter-on-quarter.

The company’s revenue from operations surged to Rs 290.6 crore in Q2 FY25, up from Rs 203 crore in Q2 FY24, as detailed in its consolidated financial statements retrieved from the National Stock Exchange (NSE).

However, MobiKwik experienced a 15% decrease in earnings during Q2 FY25, compared to Rs 342 crore in Q1 FY25.

Revenue Sources

The main contributors to MobiKwik’s revenue in FY24 included:

  • Commission on recharge
  • Processing fees
  • Interest income from servicing loans
  • Payment gateways
  • Technological platforms

Note that the company has not disclosed a detailed income breakdown in its quarterly report.

User Growth and Payment GMV

According to regulatory filings, MobiKwik’s user base has expanded by 13.6% year-on-year, reaching 167 million registered users alongside 4.4 million merchants. Additionally, the company’s payment gross merchandise value (GMV) has increased significantly, growing 3.67 times year-on-year to reach Rs 282.8 billion.

Expenditure Overview

MobiKwik’s cost structure reveals that:

  • The cost related to the payment gateway constitutes the largest expense, accounting for 47% of total costs, amounting to Rs 136 crore in Q2 FY25.
  • Employee benefits totalled Rs 43.5 crore.
  • Facilitation fees were recorded at Rs 17.5 crore.

Overall, the company’s total expenditure has increased by 47.9%, rising to Rs 287 crore in Q2 FY25 from Rs 194 crore in Q2 FY24. Notably, MobiKwik reported a net profit of Rs 14 crore for the previous fiscal year (FY24).

Profitability and Market Performance

Despite incurring a net loss of Rs 3.5 crore for this quarter, the company achieved a positive EBITDA of Rs 3.5 crore for Q2 FY25. This represents a decline from the Rs 5.2 crore profit recorded in Q2 FY24.

Last month, MobiKwik made its stock exchange debut, opening with an impressive 59% premium over its issue price on the first day. Currently, the company’s shares are trading at Rs 601.9 (as of 13:20), with a total market capitalisation of Rs 4,676 crore (approximately $556 million).
