AI-Powered Water Infrastructure Platform DigitalPaani Secures Rs 22 Crore Funding

AI-powered water infrastructure platform DigitalPaani has successfully raised Rs 22 crore in a funding round spearheaded by Navam Capital, with contributions from Enzia Ventures, Chakra Growth Capital, 3one4 Capital, Momentum Capital, Achieving Women Entrepreneurs Early Growth Fund, and Echo River Capital. The newly acquired funds are aimed at enhancing market penetration within both the industrial and municipal sectors, scaling operations to cater to a growing institutional customer base, and initiating international expansion, as stated by DigitalPaani in a recent press release.

Founded in 2020 by Mansi Jain and Rajesh Jain, DigitalPaani offers an innovative operating system designed for water and wastewater infrastructure. The platform integrates AI-driven insights with real-time asset monitoring to assist utilities, municipalities, and enterprises in improving water recycling, minimising operational losses, and averting equipment failures.

According to the Gurugram-based company, its platform analyses real-time operational data in comparison with the intended operational design of each asset, pinpointing inefficiencies and automating tasks related to equipment, maintenance, teams, and inventory.

DigitalPaani claims to support over 95 facilities, processing more than 150 million litres of water on a daily basis. Its clientele encompasses notable names such as Britannia, Leela Hotels, Tata Group, and Delhi Jal Board. The company asserts that its implementations have transformed non-compliant plants into fully functional assets, while achieving cost reductions of up to 25%. Recent revenue figures indicate nearly a sixfold increase over the past two years.

Other Startups in Infrastructure Digitisation

Ubiqedge is another startup making strides in the infrastructure digitisation realm. It secured Rs 10 crore in a seed round led by Piper Serica in April of this year, with the aim of scaling its AIoT platform for infrastructure, including water systems. The company reports that its technology has successfully digitised over 23,000 borewells.

In a related development, Solinas Integrity, incubated by IIT Madras, raised $5.5 million in a Series A1 round in August, driven by Mela Ventures and Hero Enterprise Family Office. This startup employs robotics and AI to inspect, clean, and digitise underground water, wastewater, and sanitation infrastructure.
