Neuromod Aqua: Leading the Way in Water Infrastructure

Neuromod Aqua, a startup focused on water infrastructure, has secured pre-seed investment from Porush Jain, the founder of Sportskeeda. The startup will utilise the undisclosed funds to develop a factory-manufactured platform aimed at decentralised sewage and effluent treatment.

About Neuromod Aqua

Founded in 2026 by Anuj Arora and Anand Dad, Neuromod Aqua is dedicated to creating modular wastewater treatment plants. The company leverages advanced technologies such as MBBR, MBR, and SBR to enhance its offerings. A significant focus for the company is on standardising design, manufacturing, installation, and servicing of treatment plants.

Plans for Growth and Development

The startup aims to set up a manufacturing facility, advance its productised sewage treatment plant, and complete initial commercial deployments. In addition, plans are in place to expand capabilities in process engineering and service.

India’s Sewage Situation

According to the Central Pollution Control Board, India generates approximately 72,368 million litres of sewage daily. However, the installed treatment capacity is only 31,841 MLD, with actual treatment at around 20,235 MLD. An analysis conducted by CEEW in 2025 projects that India will require an extra 70,000 MLD of treatment capacity by the year 2047.

Upcoming Initiatives

Over the next year, Neuromod Aqua plans to finalise its manufacturing facility and undertake initial deployments in the Delhi NCR region. The company will also develop a network for service and spare parts. Additionally, there are expansion plans into areas such as effluent treatment, zero liquid discharge, water reuse, reverse osmosis, and demineralisation applications.
