Nothing Before Coffee Secures $2.3 Million in Funding
Nothing Before Coffee (NBC), a quick-service restaurant coffee chain, has successfully raised $2.3 million in a pre-Series A funding round. This funding was led by Prath Ventures, with additional contributions from SYL Investments. Based in Jaipur, the company had previously garnered $313K from Vibha Jain and other investors.
The funds raised will be directed towards establishing more than 150 stores throughout India by FY26. In addition, NBC is set to enhance its digital platforms, improve supply chain efficiency, engage in talent acquisition, and explore new store formats, as indicated in a press release from the company.
About Nothing Before Coffee
Founded in 2017 by Ankesh Jain, Anand Jain, Akshay Kedia, and Shubham Bhandari, NBC provides a diverse selection of beverages. This includes coffee, shakes, and multiple specialty drinks, featuring over 100 items on its menu. The brand aspires to be a symbol of inclusivity, positioning itself as an affordable coffee hub delivering high-quality coffee.
Innovative Offerings
NBC aims to transform the market with reasonably priced options, innovative India-centric coffee products such as the ‘Shrappe’— a unique take on a frappe— and inviting café spaces that serve as gathering points for the younger demographic. The brand’s seasonal specials and distinctive brews have resonated well with customers, fueling its expansion.
Future Growth Plans
With robust unit economics and strong customer appreciation, NBC is now strategically poised for rapid growth. The funding will facilitate a deeper market presence, technological investments, and talent development as the brand strives to become India’s most cherished and accessible coffee chain.
According to the company, NBC is committed to reshaping India’s café landscape by targeting Tier-II and Tier-III cities—a market segment that remains largely overlooked by premium coffee brands. Since its inception, the brand proudly claims to have served approximately 2 million customers. Last year, NBC also expanded internationally, launching its first outlet in Portugal.
