OTPless Enhances Identity and Access Management by Appointing Geetanshu Singla as CTO
Bengaluru-based identity and access management startup OTPless has appointed Geetanshu Singla, former head of technology at BharatPe and co-founder of Genwise, as its new Chief Technology Officer (CTO). In this key role, Singla will oversee engineering, product development, platform architecture, reliability, and security within OTPless’s authentication and fraud prevention framework, which encompasses Silent Network Authentication, WhatsApp authentication, device intelligence, and passkeys.
Before joining OTPless, Singla served as Vice President of Technology at BharatPe, where he collaborated closely with OTPless co-founders Satyam Nathani and Tanmay Sagar during the fintech’s initial growth phase. After his tenure, he co-founded Genwise, which ceased operations in December last year.
This appointment comes amidst a series of management changes at OTPless. On September 18, the company promoted Nathani to CEO and Sagar to COO. On October 1, the firm named early team member Manas Poddar as Chief Business Officer (CBO).
OTPless’s Growing Influence in User Authentication
OTPless claims to authenticate over 300 million users on various consumer platforms, including Meesho, Zepto, Navi, PhysicsWallah, ShareChat, Shiprocket, and ixigo. The company has achieved a remarkable growth rate of 2.5 times in its topline over the last year, reaching an annualized revenue of Rs 36 crore, while also maintaining break-even operations for the past two quarters.
Strengthening Technical Trust in Identity Solutions
Sagar highlighted the significance of reliable technology in ensuring smooth customer experiences across the largest consumer platforms in India. He stated that any delay or failure in authentication could result in lost business, emphasizing the need for robust technology that can scale effectively at any time. He conveyed confidence in Singla’s experience in building technology at unicorn scale, which further establishes the technical trust OTPless fosters among its clients.
Singla expressed enthusiasm about reuniting with Nathani and Sagar, referring to his new role at OTPless as a return home. He noted the company’s shift from OTP authentication to a comprehensive identity and trust layer as a considerable opportunity for growth.
