Paar Autonomy Secures Funding for AI-Powered Drone Technology
Paar Autonomy, a deep-tech defence and robotics startup, has successfully raised Rs 10 crore in a funding round spearheaded by AdvantEdge Founders. This Bengaluru-based startup had previously garnered Rs 3.5 crore in a pre-seed round from Venture Catalysts to establish its initial manufacturing line and produce pilot units. The newly acquired capital will be directed towards increasing the production of AI-powered camera systems and advancing technology that allows drones to navigate independently of GPS, as stated by Paar Autonomy in a recent press release.
Paar Autonomy: Innovation in Drone Technology
Founded in June 2024 by Vignesh Sivaram Jayaraman, Paar Autonomy develops camera systems and AI software for drones and various unmanned defence platforms. The products focus on enhancing the perception layer for unmanned aerial, ground, and maritime vehicles, including drones, rovers, and boats.
Advanced Technologies
The company’s offerings encompass edge-based AI, GPS and GNSS-independent visual-inertial navigation, along with gyro-stabilised, multi-sensor gimbal camera payloads. These innovations are tailored to facilitate operations in environments where GPS is unavailable and communication is contested.
Paar Autonomy utilises AI models to provide real-time environmental interpretation, situational awareness, and target tracking, ensuring effective autonomous operations. Their product lineup features the Sentinel series, which includes Sentinel 1, Sentinel 2, Sentinel Nano, Sentinel Nano Dark, and Sentinel Nano Dual.
Market Applications
The primary focus for the company lies in defence applications such as border surveillance and tactical tracking. However, it also caters to civilian sectors, addressing needs like industrial inspection, infrastructure monitoring, and disaster response.
Recent Developments in the Sector
In the defence and robotics sector, Aeron Systems raised $4.7 million in a pre-Series B round in September 2026 aimed at expanding navigation, sensing, and monitoring technologies for defence and aerospace. In July 2026, Yaanendriya secured Rs 15 crore from Piper Serica for the development of indigenous navigation controllers and sensors tailored for robotics and aerospace applications. Additionally, General Autonomy raised $3.8 million from Elevation Capital and India Quotient in 2026 to enhance its robotics and autonomous systems.
Earlier, Raphe mPhibr acquired $100 million in a funding round led by General Catalyst in June 2025, while Unmannd obtained $2 million from Speciale Invest and Accel in September 2025 to commercialise autonomous aerial logistics and counter-drone systems.
