Physis Capital Closes Initial Rs 400 Crore Fund to Support Startups

Growth-stage venture capital firm Physis Capital has successfully concluded the fundraising for its first fund, amounting to Rs 400 crore. Established by executives from Inflection Point Ventures, including Vinay Bansal, Ankur Mittal, Mitesh Shah, and Vinod Bansal, the fund aims to invest in startups at various stages, primarily from Pre-Series A to Series B.

Investment Strategy of Physis Capital

Physis Capital plans to allocate between $1 million and $3 million to individual startups, with the goal of developing a diverse portfolio consisting of 15 to 20 companies. The fund has garnered support from several institutional investors and family offices like Star Union Dai-ichi Life Insurance, Haldiram’s Family Office, Lotus Holdings, Ajmera Realty, Narayana Nethralaya, and DS Group.

Current Deployment Status

The firm reports that over 60% of the total corpus has already been either deployed or committed across ten startups. Its current portfolio features companies such as Momentum, Olyv, STAGE, Hudle, and ElevateNow. Physis Capital anticipates completing its investment deployment within the next 6 to 8 months and is particularly interested in sectors including consumer technology, fintech, and deep tech.

Future Plans of Physis Capital

Moreover, Physis Capital intends to initiate a larger second fund by the fourth quarter of calendar year 2026. In June of the previous year, the firm successfully raised over Rs 200 crore (approximately $23 million) as part of its ongoing fundraising efforts.
