About Prithu
Founded in 2024 by Sunny Vaish, Prabal Tomar, and Abhinav Pandey, Prithu stands as a pioneering climate technology firm dedicated to creating a comprehensive carbon removal platform centred on nature-based solutions. The company fosters extensive climate initiatives by transforming regenerative agriculture, agroforestry, biochar, and biogas projects into authentic carbon credits.
Prithu has set an ambitious objective to sequester 20 million tonnes of CO₂e by 2030. It effectively tackles issues like soil organic carbon depletion, agricultural waste burning, and water scarcity while empowering small landholder farmers to engage in the global carbon markets.
The Global Carbon Market
Market research indicates that the global carbon market is currently valued at $3–4 billion and is anticipated to surpass $40–50 billion by 2030. Prithu concentrates on agriculture in India through regenerative practices that combat soil depletion, agricultural waste burning, and water stress. The company offers reputable carbon credits to the global voluntary carbon markets across various sectors, including manufacturing, technology, energy, aviation, and consumer industries.
Future Plans
In the next 12–24 months, the startup plans to scale its impact to 5 lakh hectares through natural-based solutions (NBS) projects, which include advanced biochar initiatives. It aims to improve its MRV technology, forge international collaborations, and explore new geographical territories.
Prithu is positioned in a competitive landscape that includes other notable companies such as Varaha, Grow Indigo, Mitti Labs, Equilibrium, and Boomitra.
