Minimac Systems Secures Rs 30 Crore in Funding

Minimac Systems, an industrial deep-tech company, has successfully raised Rs 30 crore in a pre-Series A funding round led by Rainmatter, an investment firm associated with Zerodha. The funding saw participation from additional venture capital firms. These funds will be directed towards enhancing research and development in miniaturised treatment infrastructures, fleet automation, and fluid analytics. Additionally, the company plans to expand its Recycling on Wheels model through regional hubs in key industrial areas and strengthen its commercial, digital, and operational capabilities, as stated in a press release from Minimac Systems.

About Minimac Systems

Founded in 2012 by Anshuman Agrawal, Minimac Systems is dedicated to lubricant lifecycle management, reliability, and circularity. The company is known for developing miniaturised fluid-treatment systems, operating Recycling on Wheels, a mobile on-site lubricant restoration solution, and innovating Lubricants as a Service.

India’s Lubricant Market

India stands as the world’s third-largest market for lubricants, consuming over 5 million tonnes annually, with its yearly import bill for base oil exceeding $2.7 billion, as per market research referenced by the company.

Minimac’s Innovative Platform

Minimac’s platform addresses three essential stages of lubricant management: NanoCircularity, MicroCircularity, and MacroCircularity. NanoCircularity oversees lubricant conditions within machines through monitoring, contamination control, and fluid-health analytics. MicroCircularity restores recoverable lubricant at industrial sites by eliminating contaminants, moisture, and degradation by-products. MacroCircularity transfers non-restorable lubricant to certified re-refiners for conversion into re-refined base oil (RRBO).

Recycling on Wheels Model

The Recycling on Wheels model utilises mobile, miniaturised treatment systems with processing capacities ranging from roughly 10 to 4,000 litres per minute. These systems are designed to evaluate and treat lubricants on-site before they are returned to operational service. Minimac aims to reduce CO₂e emissions by 860 gigagrams by 2034.

Lubricant Lifecycle Management Plans

Minimac’s strategy is to oversee the entire lubricant lifecycle within industrial facilities, encompassing supply, monitoring, restoration, compliance, and end-of-life recovery. Their proposed contracts will focus on uptime, fluid health, and agreed outcomes instead of solely on product sales.

Deployment and Achievements

The company asserts that it has installed over 2,500 miniaturised fluid-treatment systems, boasting a combined processing capacity of more than 300,000 litres per minute. It has collaborated with over 2,200 industrial assets, successfully keeping more than 14 million litres of lubricant in active use across India and other international markets. Key clients include NTPC, Adani Power, JSW Steel, and Tata Steel.

The Niche of Lubricant Circularity

The lubricant circularity sector remains relatively niche in India, with startups such as Santosh Petrochemical Innovations and ReVivo’s LubeLoop focusing on used oil re-refining and resource recovery.

Collaborations and Future Prospects

In March 2026, Re Sustainability teamed up with Indian Oil Corporation to create a nationwide used oil collection and recycling ecosystem, intending to collect 100 KTA of used lubricants and establish a re-refining facility with a capacity of 50–100 KTA. Other adjacent industrial circularity startups are also gaining attention from investors. In January 2026, PolyCycl secured a Series A funding round from Rainmatter for its advancements in chemical recycling technology.
