Seeds Fincap Raises Over Rs 100 Crore in Series B Funding

Seeds Fincap, a non-banking financial company located in Gurugram, has successfully secured over Rs 100 crore ($10.4 million) in a Series B funding round, which was predominantly led by the Michael & Susan Dell Foundation. This funding round also saw contributions from existing investors Z47 and Lok Capital, as well as Norinchukin Capital and Alteria Capital.

In the previous year, Seeds Fincap raised Rs 50 crore ($5.5 million) through a funding round led by Z47 and Lok Capital. By July 2024, they managed to raise over $8.5 million in a Series A round, which was also led by Lok Capital and Matrix Partners India, alongside Z47.

Plans for Expansion and Development

With the newly acquired funds, Seeds Fincap aims to broaden its market reach and enhance its branch network, technological advancements, and capabilities in risk management. The company has set a target of achieving Rs 1,000 crore in assets under management (AUM) by March 2027, while consistently prioritising credit assessment and the quality of its portfolio.

Background and Offerings

Established in 2021 by Subhash Chandra Acharya, Avishek Sarkar, and Sumeet Dhall, Seeds Fincap is dedicated to providing credit solutions to underrepresented individual and micro, small and medium enterprises (MSME) borrowers. The company offers loans that range from Rs 50,000 to Rs 10 lakh, employing a cash flow-based methodology to evaluate borrowers.

Financial Performance and Growth

Seeds Fincap delivered profitable results in FY25 and FY26, granting approximately Rs 620 crore in FY26. Their AUM was recorded at Rs 722 crore as of August 2026. The firm has successfully expanded to 164 branches, serving over 70,000 active members.

Seeds Fincap primarily caters to nano enterprises and small businesses, where traditional credit assessment methods may not adequately reflect business cash flows. The company utilises technology in conjunction with on-ground teams for various processes such as sourcing, onboarding, credit assessment, documentation, collections, and portfolio monitoring, enabling them to lend effectively to small business owners.
