Shiprocket’s Strong IPO Demand Signals Growth Potential

E-commerce shipping and logistics platform Shiprocket’s IPO of Rs 1,617 crore experienced robust interest from investors, witnessing a subscription rate of 99 times on the last day of bidding. The IPO commenced on August 12 and concluded today, August 14. The company had set the price range at Rs 92-97 per share.

Investor Interest in Shiprocket IPO

Qualified institutional buyers (QIBs) were primary drivers of demand, subscribing to their allocated portion 123 times. Non-institutional investors (NIIs) subscribed 89 times, while retail participation reached 46 times. The employee portion saw a subscription rate of 55 times.

Details of the Shiprocket IPO Adjustment

According to its Red Herring Prospectus (RHP), Shiprocket reduced the IPO size by 31%, adjusting it to Rs 1,617.48 crore from the previously proposed Rs 2,342.35 crore. The offering consists of a fresh issue of Rs 885.5 crore along with an offer for sale (OFS) of Rs 731.98 crore.

Utilisation of Funds from Shiprocket IPO

The company intends to allocate the proceeds from the fresh issue mainly towards growth strategies. This includes Rs 205.8 crore earmarked for marketing and Rs 159.8 crore for enhancing technology infrastructure and capabilities. Additionally, Rs 210 crore will be used to pay off borrowings, while the remaining funds are designated for acquisitions and general corporate activities.

About Shiprocket’s Operations

The Gurugram-based firm offers shipping, logistics, and e-commerce enablement services to online retailers and businesses. It enjoys backing from notable investors such as Temasek and Eternal.

Anchor Investor Participation Pre-IPO

Before the IPO launch, Shiprocket secured around Rs 727 crore from anchor investors, attracting contributions from several major domestic mutual funds and institutional investors.

Upcoming IPO Allotment and Listing Dates

The company is anticipated to confirm the IPO allotment on August 17, with shares expected to begin trading on the BSE and NSE on August 19.

Financial Performance of Shiprocket

Shiprocket reported a 24% year-on-year growth in operating revenue, reaching Rs 2,024 crore in FY26. Nonetheless, its net loss expanded by 6.8% to Rs 79 crore during the same period.
