Shiprocket, the logistics and e-commerce enablement platform, has successfully acquired Rs 727.4 crore from anchor investors prior to launching its initial public offering (IPO), as revealed in a stock exchange update on Tuesday. The company allocated 7.50 crore equity shares to various domestic and international anchor investors at Rs 97 each, which is the upper limit of its IPO price range. With this upper price band, Shiprocket is valued at approximately Rs 7,057 crore.

Participation in Anchor Round

The anchor round attracted participation from a diverse group of investors including domestic mutual funds, insurance firms, pension funds, foreign portfolio investors, and other institutional players. Notable participants comprised SBI Innovative Opportunities Fund, HDFC Mutual Fund, Nippon India Small Cap Fund, Kotak Pioneer Fund, Nomura Funds Ireland, Ashoka WhiteOak Emerging Markets Equity Fund, Goldman Sachs India Equity Portfolio, Mirae Asset, UTI Small Cap Fund, and Motilal Oswal Large Cap Fund.

Distribution of Shares

In total, domestic mutual funds received 5.01 crore shares, which represents 66.76% of the anchor allocation, spanning 31 schemes across 13 mutual funds. Life insurance firms and pension funds accounted for an allocation of 53.42 lakh shares, or 7.12% of the anchor segment.

IPO Subscription Details

Shiprocket’s IPO is scheduled to open for subscriptions on August 12 and will conclude on August 14. The company has noted that the size of the IPO has been adjusted downward by 31%, now standing at Rs 1,617.48 crore compared to the previously planned Rs 2,342.35 crore. This offering includes a fresh issue valued at Rs 885.5 crore, alongside an offer for sale (OFS) amounting to Rs 731.98 crore.

Utilization of Proceeds

The proceeds from the fresh issue are set to primarily support growth initiatives, with allocations of Rs 205.8 crore designated for marketing and Rs 159.8 crore for enhancing technology infrastructure and capabilities. Additionally, Rs 210 crore is slated for repaying borrowings, while the remaining funds will be allocated for acquisitions and general corporate needs.

Financial Performance

The Gurugram-based firm recorded a 24% year-on-year increase in operating revenue, reaching Rs 2,024 crore in FY26, although its net loss expanded by 6.8% to Rs 79 crore.

Investor Returns

Prior reports from Startup Superb indicate that several early investors in Shiprocket stand to realise considerable returns through the IPO, with 500 Global anticipated to achieve nearly 77.6X returns on its OFS. On the other hand, some late-stage investors, such as Lightrock Moore ventures, are projected to sell their holdings at a loss relative to their acquisition costs.
