Early-Stage Investment Fund Focused on Agentic AI Solutions
Early-stage investment fund Silicon Road Ventures (SRV) has entered into a partnership with Ajay Mahajan to initiate an alternative investment fund (AIF) that concentrates on startups developing agentic AI solutions in the B2B commerce technology arena. According to Mahajan, these innovative solutions will address various aspects, including multi-channel commerce, supply chain logistics, fintech, consumer insights, and retail operations. The AIF, with a corpus of Rs 150 crore, has obtained Category-II registration from SEBI.
Founded in 2019 by Sid Mukherjee, Silicon Road Ventures is a venture capital firm dedicated to early-stage investments, ranging from Seed to Series A, primarily within commerce technology covering retail, e-commerce, and consumer packaged goods (CPG). With over 46 investments, the firm predominantly concentrates on groundbreaking technologies spanning fintech, supply chain, and AI, frequently collaborating with academic institutions.
Mukherjee has also established a fund in collaboration with his alma mater, BITS Pilani, and Kennesaw State University, aimed at providing non-dilutive funding to startups created by students from these two universities.
Before founding SRV, Mukherjee co-founded and served as the CEO of Software Paradigms International (SPI), a company that specialised in offering technology solutions to retail enterprises. SPI was acquired by the IT services powerhouse Cognizant in 2018.
