Simple Energy Raises Rs 1,750 Crore in Significant Series C Funding

Bengaluru-based electric two-wheeler manufacturer Simple Energy has successfully secured Rs 1,750 crore ($182 million) during its Series C funding round. This fundraise is the largest in the company’s history and ranks as the third-largest for any Indian electric two-wheeler Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM), as reported by the company.

Lead Investors and Funding Overview

The funding round was spearheaded by the family office of Dr Arokiaswamy Velumani, the founder of Thyrocare Technologies, alongside founder and CEO Suhas Rajkumar and co-founder and CFO Ankit Gupta. The round also saw participation from Bengaluru-based High Net Worth Individual Amit Mishra and the Haran Family Office. The entire amount was raised through equity.

Capital Utilisation Plans

This fresh capital injection brings Simple Energy’s total capital raised to over Rs 2,530 crore ($263 million). The funds will be allocated towards establishing a new manufacturing facility, enhancing production capacity, broadening its distribution and service network, hiring new talent, as well as financing research and development for upcoming products. Additional allocations will also go towards marketing efforts and supply chain operations.

Current Production Capabilities

Simple Energy boasts a production capacity of 10,000 units monthly and operates over 80 outlets across more than 60 cities. The company’s product line features electric scooters such as the Simple One, Simple Wave, and Simple Ultra.

Recent Sales Growth

According to the company, its monthly sales have experienced a remarkable growth of over four times during the past year. In the last eight months, Simple Energy has introduced the Simple Wave and Simple Ultra models for both family and performance scooter categories.

Financial Highlights

For the financial year 2026, Simple Energy reported operating revenue ranging from Rs 150-160 crore, a significant increase from approximately Rs 40 crore in FY25. Most of its sales currently originate from southern Indian states.

Previous Funding Rounds

In June 2026, Simple Energy raised Rs 250 crore through a combination of debt and equity, after securing a $10 million all-equity bridge fundraise in September 2025. Prior to these raises, it collected $20 million in Series A funding in July 2024, over $20 million in a bridge funding round in February 2023, and $21 million in a pre-Series A funding round in November 2021.

Company Background and Innovation

Founded in 2019 by Suhas Rajkumar and Shreshth Mishra, Simple Energy later welcomed Ankit Gupta as a co-founder. The company is involved in the development of electric two-wheelers, as well as critical components including chassis, batteries, motors, and software, all produced in-house.

Industry Firsts

Simple Energy positions itself as the first Indian OEM to commercially manufacture heavy rare-earth-free motors. Moreover, it claims to be the first Indian OEM to offer a lifetime warranty on both its motor and battery systems.
