Skyroot Aerospace Achieves Revenue Milestone

Skyroot Aerospace, a spacetech startup based in Hyderabad, has successfully surpassed the Rs 100 crore revenue threshold in FY26 as it started to monetise its space systems venture in anticipation of the upcoming launch of the Vikram-I rocket. This information is derived from preliminary financial documents assessed by Startup Superb. This progress follows Skyroot attaining the status of India’s first spacetech unicorn after a $60 million funding round which valued the startup at around $1.1 billion.

Revenue and Financial Performance

Skyroot’s operational revenue reached Rs 100.6 crore in FY26, marking the company’s initial significant revenue since its establishment. Notably, the startup has not yet embarked on commercial launch operations, indicating that all revenue was derived from its Space Systems sector. As of FY25, the firm had not recorded any operational income and remained pre-revenue.

Aerospace and Satellite Components

Skyroot is involved in the production of various aerospace and satellite components, such as composite satellite structures, payload adaptors, composite motor cases, propulsion systems, actuators, nozzles, and other essential products used in both satellites and launch vehicles. The company began to commercialise these offerings during FY26 while also continuing the development of its launch vehicles.

Financial Losses and Expenditures

The company reported a negative EBITDA of Rs 130.3 crore in FY26, a rise from a negative EBITDA of Rs 107.7 crore in the preceding fiscal year (FY25). Despite attempts to obtain answers, queries directed to Skyroot were not addressed by the time this article was published.

Employee Benefits and Research Investments

Regarding expenses, the employee benefit costs surged to Rs 95.5 crore in FY26, up from Rs 35.9 crore the prior year. The startup also heavily invested in research and development, alongside testing facilities and operational growth, leading to its operating and administrative expenses climbing to Rs 88.2 crore during FY26.

Future Revenue Projections

Looking forward, Skyroot anticipates revenue to soar nearly tenfold to Rs 977 crore in FY27, which will include Rs 345 crore from launch services and Rs 633 crore from its Space Systems division. The company is planning to conduct its first Vikram-I launch within the current financial year, a move expected to create a new income stream from satellite launch services.

Long-Term Forecasts

The startup’s long-term forecasts indicate a significant growth trajectory, with revenue projected to rise from Rs 101 crore in FY26 to Rs 13,205 crore by FY32 as the Vikram-I, Vikram-II, and the reusable launch vehicle (RLV) commence commercial operations. Additionally, documents reveal that as of March 2026, Skyroot had customer advances exceeding Rs 252 crore. The company also aims to fulfil over Rs 605 crore in Space Systems contracts by FY28.
