Spill Games Secures $3.1 Million Seed Funding for Mobile Gaming
Mobile gaming startup Spill Games has successfully raised $3.1 million in a seed funding round. This round was co-led by Centre Court Capital and PeerCapital. The Bengaluru-based company had previously obtained $750K from All In Capital, M-League, and other angel investors in December 2024. The funds will be allocated to enhance its current portfolio of live and upcoming titles, strengthen its technology infrastructure, and selectively grow its team, according to a press announcement from Spill Games.
Co-founded in July 2024 by Om Misra, Tapan Ranjan, and Harsh Garg, Spill Games is dedicated to developing casual and puzzle games aimed at a worldwide audience. The startup utilises its proprietary Spillway engine and in-house tools to facilitate rapid game development, iterations, and scalability of high-quality games.
As stated by Spill Games, its proprietary engine and tooling layer assist in modularising and accelerating vital aspects of game development, including analytics, retention, monetisation, and live operations. This approach empowers the company to launch products noticeably faster than traditional studios, delivering games approximately four times quicker and operating with better capital efficiency.
Market research forecasts that mobile gaming will surpass $107 billion globally by 2026. Spill Games presently focuses on the casual and puzzle gaming sectors, housing a portfolio of five active games, including Cozy Finds, Sticker by Number, and Zen Math Crossword. Notably, three of its titles have realised positive unit economics.
Over the next 18 months, Spill aims to evaluate over 20 additional prototypes across both casual and hybrid-casual formats. They also plan to expand their monetisation strategy beyond an ad-centric model, with new launches in the hybrid-casual and in-app purchase segments. Other significant competitors in this domain include Scopely, Zynga, Tripledot Studios, King, and Playrix.
