Startup Superb’s Community Initiative, The Spur, Expands D2C Conversations in Bengaluru
Startup Superb’s focus on D2C community engagement was evident at The Spur, which hosted its second edition in Bengaluru on October 23. This gathering of direct-to-consumer founders aimed to delve into the complexities of establishing and developing consumer brands.
The Unique Format of The Spur
Taking place at The Bier Library and with the backing of PhonePe Payment Gateway, this event distinguished itself from traditional startup meetings. Instead of the usual panel discussions and formal pitches, the emphasis was on open dialogues that explored the realities of business ownership. Participants engaged in discussions about effective branding strategies, common pitfalls, and insights drawn from personal experiences. This relaxed atmosphere fostered the sharing of valuable lessons from the entrepreneurial journeys of those present.
The Attendees
The Bengaluru edition was a noteworthy gathering, featuring over 30 founders and leaders from the D2C landscape. Notable attendees included Puspen Maity of Technosport, Ujwal Sutaria of TDV Partners, Ramprasad Shastry of DriveU, Kavin KK of Agrizy, Surbhi Bhatia of The Mom Store, Adarsh J. Srivastava of DeHaat, Sharath Loganathan of Ninjacart, Pratyush Giri, Saras Agarwal of Navora Wellness, Sachin Nandwana of BigHaat, Shivam Dang of Shadowfax, and Shagun Dwivedi of Deconstruct.
Continuing the Conversation
The Bengaluru meeting followed the inaugural edition of The Spur held in Gurugram on September 25, which convened over 40 founders and 10 investors from the NCR D2C community to examine the challenges of scaling consumer enterprises.
Building a Supportive Community
With The Spur, Startup Superb aims to cultivate a tight-knit community for founders to exchange insights, learn collaboratively, and forge significant relationships beyond traditional business networking. This initiative is designed as a community-building platform with no rigid speaking topics or commercial motives, encouraging open discourse about the struggles and successes that typically remain absent from mainstream startup narratives.
Looking Forward
The next Spur event is set to be hosted in the National Capital Region (NCR), broadening the initiative’s influence and providing another opportunity for D2C founders to engage in open conversations and collaborative learning experiences.
