Swiggy to Launch a Standalone Instamart App
Swiggy, the leading food delivery and quick commerce company, is set to introduce a dedicated app for Instamart as part of its strategy to enhance its app ecosystem. Sriharsha Majety, MD and Group CEO of Swiggy, highlighted in a recent exchange filing that, “The positive reception in new cities and categories indicates that Instamart could achieve significantly higher user adoption, exceeding 100 million users. Instamart will continue to be a crucial feature within the Swiggy app, allowing us to leverage the benefits of a unified platform.” He further stated, “The standalone app will serve as an enhancement, expanding our reach by connecting with consumers wherever they are, and ensuring we consistently provide the best possible experience in this sector.”
Insights on Quick Commerce Growth
Additionally, Majety mentioned that recent insights indicate that quick commerce is on track to outpace food delivery in both scale and market penetration. This initiative is part of Swiggy’s expanding portfolio of standalone apps, which recently welcomed Snacc—a food delivery application—and Pyng, a marketplace for professional services. Existing standalone apps for Dineout and the direct-to-consumer marketplace, Minis, will also remain accessible as features within the unified app.
