Unify Foodworks Secures Rs 5 Crore for Restaurant Expansion

Unify Foodworks, the exclusive pan-Indian master franchisee for Moe’s Casa Mexicana and Carvel, has successfully raised Rs 5 crore in a recent seed funding round via compulsorily convertible debentures (CCDs). This new investment will be directed towards enhancing the visibility of both brands in the National Capital Region (NCR), where their journey in India commenced, as stated by Unify Foodworks in a press release.

Plans for Expansion and Brand Development

The company intends to increase the number of stores and strengthen brand recognition in the NCR. Furthermore, it aims to refine its operational framework as it strives to develop both brands into renowned national restaurant chains, with the long-term objective of launching over 100 outlets across India.

About Unify Foodworks and Its Brands

Established in November 2024 by Sumer Sethi, Unify Foodworks possesses the exclusive pan-Indian master franchise rights for Moe’s Casa Mexicana, Carvel, and Moe’s Southwest Grill. Moe’s Casa Mexicana represents the international growth of the US-based fast-casual restaurant chain Moe’s Southwest Grill, marking India as its inaugural international market. The menu boasts items such as burritos, bowls, and tacos, along with India-specific selections like Habanero Paneer.

Carvel, an esteemed American ice cream brand founded in 1934, marked its entry into the Indian market in 2025, opening its first outlet in Connaught Place, New Delhi. Both brands are under the ownership of Roark Capital, a US-based private equity firm that also has investments in Subway, Baskin-Robbins, and Dunkin’.

Investment in Infrastructure and Operations

Unify Foodworks is making significant investments in supply chain management, logistics, and training at the store level as it prepares to broaden its reach beyond the NCR. The company plans to leverage this region to assess store economics, menu localisation, and operational efficiency before extending its proven model to additional markets.
